My India,my pride.

Chandra Shekhar Azad once said- “If your blood does not rage, it is water that flows in your vein.”

This is how I have been feeling for the last 2 weeks and I didn’t know how to express myself or my frustration and anger. As a writer, I have played very safe and never imposed my opinions on anyone and I wish to continue doing that but as an Indian, I am angered and disturbed at the way the world is portraying India.

Currently, India is going through the second wave of Covid19 and it has been the worst one experienced in the history of Covid19.

The country has recorded around 18.7 million people testing positive and 200,808 deaths and counting. We have run out of hospital beds, ventilators, oxygen cylinders, medicines, and supplies.EVERYONE knows this as we all know “bad news travels fast”!

But I no longer can tolerate non-residential Indians and influencers with millions of follower calling India “poorly developed” and the “relaxed protocols” was the reason for our downfall.

I want to add that I will speak nothing about the political rallies and I won’t even defend the fact that we stopped maintaining social distancing. Meeting family and friends became too easy and 100 hundred percent agree they were wrong. WE made a mistake and it is costing us lives and we are tasting some bitter medicines.

But I will not tolerate people tarnishing India’s image. Our state is devastating but we are making progress and I know we will get through this. I wanted to share a few research-based facts of India’s progress to hopefully give some hope to Indians and also dawn some light on the progress we are making.

No one saw the second wave coming, NO ONE did. India had the strictest lockdown rule for 5 months. Our lockdowns were followed and were the most extensive and intense. Yet, you may ask how did the second wave reach this point, we stopped staying at home at the wrong time. We stopped taking necessary precautions. We ripped the bandage off too early.

In the last week, covid cases in Maharashtra have decreased by approximately around a lakh. India before April 28 vaccinated UK, Brazil, Germany, and many more countries COMBINED. India vaccinates the entire population of New Zealand every 2 days.

A fire in me is raging when I heard that the Communist Party of China has the audacity to make a joke on our situation. They launched a rocket and put a picture of our tragic fatalities of Covid19, on a burial ground on their way to heaven alongside captioning it” China light a fire, India light a fire”.

India is using social media as a tool and this post proves it, to all of those who are trying their best to help thankyou!

But one thing I am assertive of India will come out of this stronger than ever, and once this over we will look back and learn and grow from our mistakes.I would like to end by saying “Saare Jahan se achha , Hindustan Hamara”.
