The year where everyone stood,we flew

Hi eagles!

For all of those who didn’t know today, the 25th of March is when we turn 1. Yes, eagle post is 1 year old and coincidentally enough this is also our 50th post! I want to thank you guys so much for all the love and support this past year! I can’t wait to see the community we will build in the future❤

I thought for today’s post, I would share 5 lessons I learned this past year as a blogger /writer, and hopefully, this helps some of you guys❤

The first lesson I learned -

Don’t bite off more than you can chew-I remember this distinctly when I first started eaglepost. I decided I was going to post thrice a week which failed miserably. As I had neither the skills to manage my time properly nor the ability to be able to post thrice a week. Within a week I had exhausted all my ideas and I finally decided to try once a week which was more sustainable and gave me enough time to actually post content I am proud of!

Go with the flow, write with the flow- I write most of my posts whenever I have an idea or I have read something that intrigued me. Most of the time all these ideas hit me 1–2 hours before I am supposed to post. I allow myself to be flexible enough to start writing whenever as long as I posted once a week. I did this so I wouldn’t burn out as soon as I started and it gave me more pleasure to write as I was writing when I felt like writing. I often feel my favorite pieces were the ones I wrote when I had these brainwaves.

Be your own judge — Often when I read my posts before uploading them I would ask myself questions like “If I read this on the internet will I be satisfied with what I’m reading”. I would ask myself was there a simpler way to convey my thoughts and that really helped me convey my thoughts in the hope to make reading my blog a more pleasant experience.

Discipline is key — Well I definitely allowed myself to be flexible but I tried following a schedule where I would post once a week. This rule I made for myself made sure I got posts out every single week which I did (well most of the times:)

The last and the most important thing learned was to believe in yourself” The more you believe in yourself, the more you can trust yourself” I believed in my ideas and my ability to convey my thoughts. I believed I could do this and it may not seem so important to believe in yourself but in the end, just believing in yourself matters the absolute most!

-Thank you for reading!
